Turning Struggles into Strength, Step by Step

Rahul Bijve, 36, was born in 1989 in Val Gaon, a small village in the Amravati district of Maharashtra. Born with low vision, Rahul struggled in a mainstream school during his early years. Though he completed his primary education there, he found it increasingly difficult to cope—especially when he could no longer read the blackboard. After much inquiry and effort, he secured admission in Class 5 at a blind school in Amravati, where he studied up to Class 7. Later, under a special provision by the Maharashtra government for students above 18, he was allowed to directly take admission in Class 10.

As his parents grew older, Rahul began to feel a strong sense of responsibility toward supporting his family. In search of employment, he came across the Eyeway Helpline on social media and decided to reach out. At the time, he was deeply anxious and uncertain about how he could contribute financially to his household.

Eyeway counselors encouraged Rahul to resume his education while simultaneously preparing for government exams. With their guidance and motivation, Rahul successfully completed his graduation and began applying for competitive exams. He even advanced to the interview stage for a few, though he couldn’t secure a final selection.

During this period, Eyeway also advised him to consider private job opportunities or starting a small business to meet his immediate needs. Initially unsure if any private employer would be willing to hire a person with visual impairment, Rahul expressed his doubts. The Eyeway team reassured him, saying, “Your job is to appear for the interview and perform well.”

With renewed confidence and determination, Rahul appeared for interviews—and soon found success. He joined IndiaMART as a Customer Assistant, a role that brought him both financial stability and self-belief. He remains grateful to Eyeway for their continuous support and credits the organization for boosting his confidence at every stage of his journey.

Today, Rahul continues to stay in touch with Eyeway while actively preparing for competitive exams, hopeful and determined to further his goals.
